Atlanta Hawks Headlines returns to find Atlanta’s losing streak still in tact. Is it time to panic?

The Atlanta Hawks last won a basketball game on March 13th. That was more than two weeks ago. Since then, they have lost seven consecutive games. They’ve lost to good teams like the San Antonio Spurs, Memphis Grizzlies, and Washington Wizards.

They’ve lost to middling teams like the Portland Trail Blazers, Charlotte Hornets, and Milwaukee Bucks. Most recently, they lost a Sunday afternoon home game to the blazing pile of basketball badness that is the Brooklyn Nets.

Naturally, most of the commentary on the Hawks across the web remains negative. There isn’t much to be positive about. There’s a real possibility that the Hawks could fall out of the playoffs. Or worse, they could be matched up in a first round series with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

I’m sure most Hawks fans would rather be in the lottery than endure another four-game sweep at the hands of LeBron James. Anyway, let’s take a look at what the world has to say about the Hawks and this never-ending rough patch.

Atlanta Hawks in Free Fall After Home Loss to Nets

Add the Brooklyn Nets to the list of teams that have defeated the Hawks during this troubling seven-game losing streak. This was the most embarrassing loss yet. The Hawks were down three starters in this one, but losing to the Nets at home is something that shouldn’t happen. Thabo Sefolosha joined the already injured Paul Millsap and Kent Bazemore on the shelf. If they don’t get healthy soon there’s no telling how long the streak will last.

Atlanta Hawks: Dennis Schroder’s Rank Among Point Guards 25 or Younger

Nile Goodwyn compares Dennis Schroder to other point guards around the NBA that are 25-years-old or younger. The only player that is definitely better than Schroder on this list is Kyrie Irving. Schroder is comparable to the rest of his peers, and has more upside than most of them. What Schroder needs to go from good to great is consistency.

Atlanta Hawks: More Backup Point Guard Questions

Jake Martinsek makes his Soaring Down South debut by taking a look at Atlanta’s backup point guard situation. He wonders if the Hawks should look to give DeAndre’ Bembry minutes over Jose Calderon and Malcolm Delaney. Over the last few weeks, Mike Budenholzer has shuffled back and forth between Calderon and Delaney in the rotation. Neither player has grabbed a firm hold on the position.

Locked on Hawks podcast: Weekend recap, injuries and more

On Locked on Hawks, Brad Rowland recaps Atlanta’s weekend of losing. He discusses the lack of offensive production against Milwaukee, Atlanta’s injuries, Taurean Prince‘s first start, and much more.

It is gut check time for the Atlanta Hawks

At Peachtree Hoops, Kris Willis says that time is running out on Atlanta’s season. The team has had a rough season overall, going 28-34 since a 9-2 start. Instead of blowing up the team and rebuilding at the trade deadline, the front office elected to push forward with their current core of aging veterans. That decision seems to have backfired. Can the Hawks pull themselves together and avoid falling out of the playoff race?

No relief: Millsap, Bazemore and Sefolosha out vs. Suns

Chris Vivlamore of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that the Hawks will again be without three starters in their next game against the Phoenix Suns. Paul Millsap, Kent Bazemore, and Thabo Sefolosha will all miss the game. The Suns are in full on tank mode, but the Hawks lost to the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday. Without Paul Millsap, they can lose to anyone.

Hawks vs. Nets — Things of Note

At Hawks Hoop, Graham Chapple dives into Atlanta’s loss over the Nets. Chapple says that the loss to the Nets is rock bottom. I completely agree with him. One thing of note, the Hawks bench continues to struggle. Atlanta’s bench players combined for just seven points in the loss to Brooklyn.
