Atlanta Hawks Headlines: The Cleveland Sweep
Atlanta Hawks Headlines returns to look at reaction from Atlanta’s surprising weekend sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Now that’s how you finish off a weekend. The Atlanta Hawks did the unthinkable on Sunday. They came back from down 26 points in the fourth quarter to complete a weekend sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Friday’s win was also unlikely. It came without Dennis Schroder, Kent Bazemore, Thabo Sefolosha, Paul Millsap, or Dwight Howard in the lineup. Each player missed the game due to injury or rest. Atlanta’s role players stepped up and secured a convincing 114-100 victory.
Sunday’s win was even more thrilling because it came in front of a raucous home crowd. Philips Arena was lit, as the kids say. The environment made it feel like a playoff game. That’s a good sign for the Hawks, as the NBA Playoffs are approaching quickly.
The Hawks only play two more games this season. They’ll take on the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday, before finishing the season Wednesday against the Indiana Pacers. Until then, let’s take a look at what the world is saying about the Hawks.
