Atlanta Hawks Headlines is back to discuss the state of Hawks-Wizards as Game 6 approaches.

It all comes down to tonight for the Atlanta Hawks. Their season is on the brink. A Game 5 loss to the Washington Wizards has them down 3-2 in their best of seven first round series. The Hawks had their chances in Game 5, the Wizards were just better.

John Wall and Bradley Beal used Marcin Gortat‘s aggressive screens to get open looks all night and Otto Porter Jr. finally made his presence felt in this series. It was a two-point game with one minute to play, but Atlanta’s offense faltered down the stretch.

As frustrating as the winnable Game 5 was, the Hawks have to move on. Friday presents another opportunity to punch back in this heated series. The Philips Arena crowd will be fiery, thank God it’s not a 6:00 p.m. start, and the players will be motivated to force a winner take all Game 7.

Let’s take a look at today’s links as we wait for the crippling anxiety to creep into our consciousness, followed by the crushing pain that inevitably that comes with rooting for a team from Atlanta.
