Atlanta Hawks Headlines is back with reaction to Game 6 of the first round matchup between the Atlanta Hawks and Washington Wizards. Were the Hawks able to save their season?

It all came down to Friday night. The Atlanta Hawks had to win Game 6 to extend their series with the Washington Wizards. A win would force a Game 7 Sunday back in D.C. The Philips Arena crowd was lit. The players were motivated. All they needed to do was win. Well, that’s easier said than done.

The Hawks just didn’t have anything left to give in the end. Their valiant comeback bid fell short as they ran out of gas in the fourth quarter. The Wizards rode the performances of John Wall and Bradley Beal to victory. Washington won the series 4-2 and will now move onto the Eastern Conference Semifinals where they’ll face the Boston Celtics.

It was an up and down season for the Hawks. There were high highs. There were low lows. This Hawks team had a Jekyll and Hyde quality to them. Fans never knew which team was going to show up on a particular night.

It was a frustrating season. It was a fun season. Now it’s time for the offseason. This summer will be interesting. The Hawks have several impending free agents, and thus, several unanswered questions.

Those questions will be answered in due time. For now, let’s take a look at today’s links.
