Thanks for returning to Atlanta Hawks Headlines. Hawks Headlines is the place to go for Atlanta Hawks news, opinion, analysis, and perhaps one day a screenplay about a world in which the Hawks win a title. We can all dream, right?

Atlanta Hawks: Could DeAndre’ Bembry Take Kent Bazemore’s Role?

Collin Huguley wonders if DeAndre’ Bembry might be able to take Kent Bazemore’s role next season. Bembry had an interesting rookie season and showed the potential to be an elite defensive player. Bazemore is the better shooter, and under a long-term contract, so a role in the rotation would be his to lose. I imagine Mike Budenholzer will look to find minutes for both of them next season.

Atlanta Hawks 2016-2017 Season Review: Ersan Ilyasova

Ersan Ilyasova spent less than half a season with the Hawks, but he was a welcome addition to the team. He played solid team defense, drew charges, was a capable rebounder, and knocked down outside shots. He did exactly what the Hawks needed him to do. His performance could lead to a return to Atlanta, if the Hawks can find the cap space.

At Peachtree Hoops, poster RedRev lists five NBA Draft prospects Hawks fans should keep their eye on. John Collins and Luke Kennard make the list. Both would be great fits in Atlanta. Kennard would be particularly helpful due to Atlanta’s need for outside shooting.

At Hawks.com, KL Chouinard spoke to Tim Hardaway Jr. about his 2016-17 season and his impending restricted free agency. It sounds like Hardaway would like to stay in Atlanta. Hardaway become a huge part of Atlanta’s offense this season.

A few days ago, Chouinard spoke with Mike Muscala about his career-best season and what he is planning to work on this summer. It’s possible that Muscala will leave Atlanta in free agency.
