How the Atlanta Hawks failed at the Trade Deadline

Tyler Sellers looks at Atlanta’s decision-making at the 2017 NBA Trade Deadline. The Hawks traded Kyle Korver in January, but held onto the rest of their expiring contracts. Many thought they’d move Paul Millsap for draft picks and young players. David Aldridge recently reported that former Hawks GM Wes Wilcox was in favor of trading Millsap, but Mike Budenholzer wanted to keep him. They are now faced with either signing him to a max contract to keep him well into his late 30s, or watch him walk away for nothing.
