Once again, it’s a slow day in Hawks land. The news cycle isn’t churning quite as quickly as it does during the season. Of course, things will heat up as Atlanta’s search for a new GM progresses, the draft draws closer, and we enter the free agency period.

Collin Huguley asks if the Hawks should consider an outside the box candidate in their search for a new general manager. Brent Barry and Chauncey Billups have been linked to the job in recent days. A respected former player may be exactly what the Hawks need to lure big free agents to Atlanta.

Atlanta Hawks 2016-17 Season Review: Mike Muscala
Atlanta Hawks center Mike Muscala had the best season of his career in 2016-17. He shot above 50 percent from the field and above 40 percent from three-point range. Muscala struggled in the playoffs, however, giving his season a bitter end. Muscala is an unrestricted free agent this summer and may end up signing elsewhere.

Reid Forgrave’s latest mock draft at CBS Sports has the Hawks taking Kentucky’s Hamidou Diallo with the 19th overall pick. Diallo did not play a single game for Kentucky after enrolling in January 2017. This would be a risky pick, but Diallo has tremendous upside. He still could elect to return to school.
4 Second-Round NBA Draft Options For The Hawks
Gordon Robinson of CBS Atlanta lists four prospects the Hawks could potentially draft in the second round. The Hawks will pick 31st and 60th in the second round.
Atlanta Hawks: Should The Hawks Make A Play For Curry?
Wesley Wilcox asks if the Hawks should make a run at Stephen Curry. It’s safe to say that’s not going happen. The Hawks don’t have the cap room to sign Curry and Curry isn’t likely to leave Golden State, let alone have any interest in playing for the Hawks. Wilcox finishes his piece by expressing a similar sentiment.
