Atlanta Hawks Headlines is back as the Hawks have officially hired their next general manager.

Welcome back to Atlanta Hawks Headlines! Hawks Headlines the place to find the latest Hawks news, opinion, and analysis, all in one convenient place. As always, Hawks Headlines is chock full of Hawks related goodies.

Yesterday, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reported that the Hawks were close to hiring Golden State Warriors assistant general manager Travis Schlenk as their next general manager. Today, the Hawks made it official.

Schlenk’s hiring means Atlanta’s offseason can begin to take shape. First comes the NBA Draft. The Hawks have three picks and Schlenk will have to decide whether to trade them or use them to stockpile young talent.

Next comes free agency. Will Schlenk want to bring back Paul Millsap? Will he start a rebuild that some Hawks fans feel is necessary? We’ll find out as the summer progresses. For now, let’s get to today’s links.

Collin Huguley says that the Hawks should consider signing former top 10 pick Ekpe Udoh this summer. Udoh played professionally in Turkey this season, helping his team win the EuroLeague championship. Udoh is considering a move back to the NBA and would be a great fit as a rim protector off of the bench.
