A Strong Week For The Bayhawks
The Erie BayHawks had a perfect week as they won all 3 of their games and moved into 1st place in the Southeast Division.
It started Wednesday with a thrilling 95-94 win over the Wisconsin Herd. Raphiael Putney scored another double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Jaylen Morris had a good game as well, scoring 22.

Friday, A 35-point 4th quarter lifted the BayHawks over the Knicks 120-112 in Westchester. Putney had another stellar outing with 24 points, and Isaiah Taylor had 22 points and 10 assists.

Go Bite Win!
As my colleague Chris Guest wrote this weekend, The BayHawks will rebrand as the Pepperoni Balls on March 9th as part of the “What could’ve been night” promotion — which acknowledges a dietary staple in Erie of Pepperoni Balls.
We’ve seem gimmicks like this with other G-League affiliates, like the “SpongeBob Night” for the Delaware 87ers. The BayHawks’ opponent for that night will be the Maine Red Claws. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.
News and Notes
The Atlanta Hawks announced late Sunday Night that they recalled Cavanaugh and Taylor. Cavanaugh averaged 18.4 points per game in 4 outings with Erie, and Taylor averaged 21.3 points in 4 games.
Coming Up
Erie looks to hold on to their 1st place position in the Southeast with two weekend games at home.
Friday Night, Erie travels to face the Long Island Nets, which they came up short on the road 96-90 on December 26th. Thomas Winbush had a 27-point outing for the Nets.
Saturday Night, they’ll look for a better outing against the Raptors 905. They’ll hope to contain Bruno Cabloco, who scored 22 against the BayHawks in a 100-85 loss.
