Hawks Unable to Keep Pace with Indiana, Fall 112-87
By Jason Marks
From the opening tip to the closing buzzer, the Atlanta Hawks couldn’t overcome poor shooting and a rash of turnovers in a 112-87 loss to the Indiana Pacers.
Dewayne Dedmon scored the first basket of the game for the Hawks, which ended up being their only lead of this blowout loss.
Cory Joseph opened up with 3 of the Pacers’ first four baskets, and, after that, the Hawks never had an answer. The baskets wouldn’t fall and the Hawks found themselves down 34-15 by the end of the 1st quarter.
The Hawks would outscore Indiana 22-19 in the 2nd quarter, but still found themselves in a 53-37 hole at halftime. Isaiah Taylor would score 4 points, but would leave the game after rolling his ankle.

Victor Oladipo, Darren Collison, and Bojan Bogdanovic were a thorn in Atlanta’s side and it would continue until the end of the 3rd quarter. Bogdanovic finished with 21 points while Collison and Oladipo finished with 17.
Josh Magette and Andrew White would see significant playing time for the Hawks and Tyler Dorsey would score all 18 of his points in the 2nd half.
Despite only performing at one point 3-16 from 3PT in the first half, the Hawks would finish 10-33 overall (30.3%).
The game ended in what was a microcosm of Atlanta’s night as Andrew White’s attempted lob to Dewayne Dedmon ended up careening away at an awkward angle as time expired.
