A quick peek ahead at the Atlanta Hawks game later today against the Brooklyn Nets.
For the third and final time this season, the Atlanta Hawks will face off against the resurgent Brooklyn Nets.
The Nets are back in the postseason picture after a few dark years in which the fateful Kevin Garnett/Paul Pierce came home to roost with multiple first-round picks heading to Boston over the course of the past few seasons.

Though Boston has certainly reaped the benefits of Brooklyn losing, Brooklyn has bounced back impressively, and the team has been more fun to watch than the desolate Celtics this year – who are seemingly in a constant state of flux this year.
The Nets, on the other hand, are one of the best feel-good stories of the year – especially with what looked like a frightful injury to up-and-coming youngster Caris LeVert.
However, everything that former Atlanta Hawks assistant coach Kenny Atkinson has touched this year has turned to gold, and D’Angelo Russell and Spencer Dinwiddie have carried the team, and the underrated contributions of a variety of players (such as DeMarre Carroll, Allen Crabbe, Rodions Kurucs and Jarrett Allen) have been a joy to watch.
The Nets are currently in a spirited race in the lower portion of the Eastern Conference playoff picture, and they’re currently in a technical tie with the Detroit Pistons for the 6th seed. Though the Pistons are technically ahead, the Nets have played 4 more games than Detroit and have thus banked 2 more wins and 2 more losses.
Heading into tonight’s tilt against the Atlanta Hawks, the Nets have won their past 2 games and will look to make it 3 straight, as well as 3 straight against the Hawks.
Last time these 2 teams met John Collins dropped 30 points and 14 rebounds, but 7 Nets players scored in double digits leading to a 16-point Nets win.
This game is slated to tip off at 7:00 p.m. EST.
