A quick preview of the Atlanta Hawks second and final matchup of the season against the Memphis Grizzlies.

For the second time this season the Atlanta Hawks are taking on the Mike Conley and Jaren Jackson led Memphis Grizzlies. Falling 131-117 earlier this season, both teams have changed a ton, from Collins and Young turning into young superstars for Atlanta while Memphis shipped off franchise cornerstone Marc Gasol to Toronto during the trade deadline.

Atlanta has had issues as of late, losing 3 of their last 4 with the only win coming against the New Orleans Pelicans. Memphis has won 3 in a row and Mike Conley has led the attack, averaging 31.3 points and 7.7 assists over this stretch.

Conley will pose a fantastic matchup for Trae Young as his hounding defense and attacking style will surely require Young to pull out all of the tricks to get his points.

The first time these two teams met was all the way back in October and was the second game of the season for the Atlanta Hawks.

Ice Trae had 20 points and 9 assists, and Taurean Prince logged one of his best games of the season with 28 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in only 23 minutes of action. Prince was on fire from the field, and he produced those 28 points on only 10 of 15 shooting.

Prince looked good to start the year, but has been hampered by injuries. Hopefully he can regain the form that he flashed earlier in the year against Memphis.

Memphis currently sits at the 7th spot in the lottery with a record of 28-40 and are much more motivated to win so their pick this year can convey to Boston as it is protected 1-8. Atlanta isn’t as focused on winning as 4 games sit between them on either side of the lottery and therefore Atlanta is pretty entrenched with its lottery position.
