After an entertaining and action-packed offseason for the Atlanta Hawks, which finally culminated in the long-awaited signing of Vince Carter for his final professional season, the team is finally in what is likely to be its final form heading into the preseason.

With just under two months until the team’s first preseason game against Zion Williamson and the new-look New Orleans Pelicans, it’s time to delve into the depth chart for each position for the Atlanta Hawks.

We have already covered the team’s backcourt, with familiar faces Trae Young and Kevin Huerter sliding in as the team’s starting one and two guard when the preseason (and regular season) begins.

Next up on the docket will be the team’s small forward position, which underwent a massive transformation from last season to this year – what with the trade of Taurean Prince to the Brooklyn Nets and the drafting of De’Andre Hunter at #4 overall.

The Hawks gave up a fairly hefty sum for Hunter, which was, not unsurprisingly, widely panned by media at large as they believed the price to pick up a player with a high floor but not a high ceiling was far too high for Hawks GM Travis Schlenk.
