Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young is adjusting to playing without fans

The Atlanta Hawks were one of the many NBA teams not invited to the ‘bubble’ to continue their season last year and as a result, hadn’t experienced playing in front of a limited fan base. Trae Young made it known that it would be more of an adjustment than he originally thought and that it would take some getting used to.

The point guard came out rusty, not being able to get shots to fall including the signature floater that he does so well. Fans watching could tell that Trae was either a little more nervous or excited than usual, something that we can typically expect from preseason outings. He’ll use the first preseason game as a barometer for how he expects the rest of the season to go.

“We’re playing in a huge arena with no fans,” said Young, “so I’m just enjoying this preseason and using it as a learning tool as we go into the season, so I’m excited.”
