Where Bojan Bogdanovic has been a shadow of himself from last season, Mike Conley had recovered from the various niggles and injuries he was dealing with last year. As a result, the Jazz is getting a far superior output from their point guard.
In fact, there have been games this season where Conley has been the sole Jazz player who has kept their team in contests for an entire half of basketball. Without him, they would certainly have a far inferior record.
He is a really good defender at the point guard position and as such will be tasked with making Trae Young‘s life hard when the Hawks are in possession. He will also be doing his best to make Young work hard on the other end of the court.
Young is coming off a nice bounce-back game against the Philadelphia 76ers. With the extra rest due to the canceled Suns game, he should be in a better position to attack the challenge with greater vigor. When Young is not playing well, then the Hawks struggle to create enough offense.
While there are plenty of other good matchups on the floor, this one will go a long way to deciding the game.
