Injuries have been the bane of the team’s existence this season. They have missed so many games that it is a surprise that they are as high in the standings as they are. Capela missed the first two games of the season, Rajon Rondo also missed the first two then missed more time with his sore knee.
Kris Dunn is yet to play a game and Bogdan Bogdanovic fractured his knee in a freak mid-court accident. Tony Snell missed the start of the season and has since started to work his way into the rotation. Even rookie Okongwu missed the start of the season with his toe injury.
It does not seem to pay to be an offseason signing for the Hawks as Danilo Gallinari played two games before spraining his ankle. Of last year’s players, Cam Reddish missed two games with a bruised knee and De’Andre Hunter missed a game with knee soreness.
With the exception of Dunn and Bogdanovic, the Hawks have every other player back. Now Coach Pierce has the ability to work out different rotations to take on other teams. We now get the chance to see how the team looks now that they are mostly healthy. This is an exciting time in Hawks basketball.
