The Atlanta Hawks guarantee Solomon Hill’s contract
The Atlanta Hawks have not had the first month of the season they had hoped for. It started well with the Hawks taking three out of the first four games. then the wheels fell off thanks to the injury bug. That is where Solomon Hill comes in.
Hill has been averaging 4.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 0.9 assists in 19.9 minutes per game. He has been shooting the ball decently from 3-point land going 35.7 percent on 3.7 shot attempts per game. He has only been taking 4.7 attempts from the field so has been given the role of a 3-and-D player.
When the Hawks signed Hill, they were doing so as an insurance policy. If he did not work out then they would have to pay the non-guaranteed amount. With the way the Hawks season has gone, this was a very wise move.
The Atlanta Hawks made the right move by guaranteeing Solomon Hill.

The Hawks, despite getting a lot of players back from injury decided to guarantee Hill’s $2.1 million contract according to Shams of the Athletic.. This was the right move according to the luck of the team this season.
Rookie Onyeka Okongwu missed the portion of the season due to his toe injury. This meant that the Hawks had Nathan Knight, Bruno Fernando, and Hill to choose from to back up John Collins and Clint Capela.
To be fair, this is almost a fool’s choice as Fernando can defend but has almost no offense. Knight is a two-way player who has the energy of an aerobics instructor but is still trying to work out how to play in the NBA. Hill has always been solid but will not get a team many wins.
Hill even started a game this season such has been the depth of the injury crisis. Danilo Gallinari injured his ankle in the Brooklyn Nets loss just three minutes in. He has been the missing piece but even though he is back, the Hawks still felt the need for Hill, just in case they suffer the same fate later in the season with injuries.
