The Atlanta Hawks have been without the services of second-year man Cam Reddish for the last six games due to Achillies’ soreness. He also missed games earlier in the season due to a knee contusion but that appears not to be related to this current injury.

Reddish underwent a non-surgical procedure to try and strengthen the area. Reddish will be in a surgical boot for a week before he will be re-assessed per the Hawks injury report. There is a good chance that if he is only able to come out of the boot in a week, then he will miss more time than that.

One stroke of luck for the Hawks was that the All-Star break came when it did. They have been struck down with injuries all season and needed the time to try and get some of their players back given that they also relieved coach Lloyd Pierce of his duties and replaced him with their new interim head coach, Nate McMillan.

Fortunately for the Hawks, they got Bogdan Bogdanovic back from injury two games prior to the All-Star break. The ex-Sacramento Kings player who was signed during the offseason was a gift for McMillan as he gives the Hawks more depth at wing. Bogdanovic had only played nine games this season that’s to a fractured kneecap.

De’Andre Hunter is still out due to his knee injury which has weakened the Hawks starting lineup but also had an impact on their closing lineup meaning the Hawks have been terrible in the clutch. Therefore the Hawks have had to use Tony Snell, and while he has not had a negative impact on the team, he is not able to take over the game the way Hunter can.

Reddish will miss a minimum of the next three games but hopefully, he will be back before the eight-game road trip starting on the 20th of March and finishing on the 2nd of April. If Reddish can return for that, he will give some much-needed depth at the wing position.
