Will Cam Reddish be a member of the Atlanta Hawks next season?
As the Atlanta Hawks continue their incredible push towards a home playoff seed, they are doing so without Cam Reddish. The 6’8″ combo wing player was in the starting lineup at the start of the season as the shooting guard playing alongside Trae Young.
However, since Bogdan Bogdanovic came back from injury, he has been used as a secondary playmaker in the starting unit. Since taking on this role he has shown that he deserves to be a starter in the league and the Hawks have benefitted from his play.
However, the player who Bogdanovic replaced in the starting lineup, Kevin Huerter, has also made a case for himself as either a starter or one of the first players off the bench. He is a quality playmaker, can shoot from deep and when he penetrates into the paint, anything can happen.
The Atlanta Hawks may be able to get a haul for Cam Reddish

The Hawks have multiple players who can play the same role as Reddish. Two of them, Tony Snell and Lou Williams, are out of contract next season. The Hawks need to re-sign one or both of these players next season if they are going to stay near the top of the Eastern Conference.
On top of that, they need to re-sign John Collins who is going to go to the market to see his value. Then the Hawks are simply going to match it and keep Collins in the fold, that is of course if one of the cap-rich teams does not offer him the kitchen sink as well.
The problem for Reddish is that he is a really good defender, but has no other skill which sets him apart from any other player. Tony Snell is a top-level defender, and he also leads the NBA in 3-point percentage. Lou Williams is a walking bucket who keeps the offense moving when Trae Young goes to the bench.
Reddish has two years left on his deal, next season he is due $4.7 million, and the season after is a team option worth $5.9 million. With the amount of money the Hawks will be looking to spend on Collins next year and then the extensions for Young and Huerter, Reddish could be seen to be expendable.
If the Hawks can get some draft capital for Reddish, they will surely go for it so that they can keep the core together from this season.
