The Atlanta Hawks have been well served by one of their offseason acquisitions, Bogdan Bogdanovic. Since Nate McMillan took over Bogdanovic has been on a tear. This is not a coincidence, McMillan has shown that he knows how to use the fourth-year pro.
Because he is using Bogdanovic as a secondary ball-handler, the sharp-shooting Serbian is able to get to his spots and then sees the ball go through the hoop. This is like gold for a shooter as it builds their confidence and getting hoops means getting more hoops.
When Trae Young was sidelined due to an ankle injury, Bogdanovic was asked to step up again and play the point guard role. He was able to do this with great success which speaks volumes as to the quality of the systems Nate McMillan’s structure and systems.
The Atlanta Hawks got what they paid for out of Bogdan Bogdanovic.

When the Hawks signed Bogdanovic to his four-year, $72 million contract, they did so assuming that he would progress beyond his Sacramento Kings numbers. Well, last month Bogdanovic showed the Hawks that they got what they paid for.
He had the most 3-point makes by a Hawks player in a single month. Bogdanovic made 66 of his 136 attempts from deep which is a 48.5 percent clip. That number alone is incredible by itself without all the extra pressure Bogdanovic has been under due to the Hawks’ injuries.
However, what is even more impressive is whose record Bogdanovic broke. Kyle Korver held the previous record which was 55 set back in January of 2015. This record, held by one of the greatest long-distance marksmen of all time, was only in the Hawks record books for just six years.
This puts into perspective how good Bogdanovic’s April was for the Hawks. He carried an immense load for the team as John Collins and Tony Snell also went down injured during the month. One thing is for sure, when Bogdanovic and Young get back together in the backcourt, the Hawks are going to be very hard to stop if they can both keep up their best levels of play.
