John Collins‘ input into this series has been huge. In the first game, he has 12 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks in a game which was only decided by two points. His impact, when he was on the court was plus three, shooting at 55.6 percent from the floor and 50.0 percent from deep.
However, the second game of the series was a very different story. He had two quick fouls in the first period, meaning that he had to sit after only a few minutes. He then got one early in the second period meaning he played under four minutes for the half. Collins would not score in this game and had two rebounds in fifteen minutes. As a result, the Hawks lost.
It was a very different story in the third and fourth games of the series. Collins was quite simply a beast to stop. He even managed to give Clint Capela two passes in the paint for two alley-oops. showing that the Hawks’ big men have such a good connection.
In the fourth game, Collins got to the line eight times, making all of them. Collins has been giving the team what it needs when it needs it apart from in the second game. If he disappears then the Hawks have a huge hole to fill.
