While the Atlanta Hawks went down in a big way to the Milwaukee Bucks, there was a shining light that came out of the darkness that was Game 2. Midway through the second period, when the Bucks were starting to get on a roll, Coach Nate McMillan called Cam Reddish’s number.
Unfortunately for Reddish and the Hawks, the 6’8” swingman did not stop the rot. The Hawks went minus 17 in the five minutes that Reddish played during the period. However, it was not his fault this happened, despite missing his shot attempt, which happened to be right at the rim.
Reddish moved freely and was still competing on every possession. Due to the nature of the game, Reddish was also given almost the full fourth period on the court. This gave him the playing time which would help him get back into playing more time in meaningful minutes so that he can have a greater impact on the postseason.

Atlanta Hawks head coach Nate McMillan would have liked what he saw in Cam Reddish.
There were a couple of plays, when he was on Jeff Teague, that Reddish did not look like he had his speed back. He then started to gain more confidence and got his defensive timing back, making a couple of good decisions on when to double team. Reddish even had a poke away which led to a transition shooting foul. Reddish made both of these free throws.
This was something that would have impressed his coach. Reddish was able to produce at all three levels offensively. He was 4-of-10 from the floor, 1-of-3 from deep, and was perfect at the line. He would finish with 11 points, two rebounds, and one steal in an impressive performance.
Reddish could have scored more as he was often the first or second player down the court in transition. And had some good moves near the rim, including one transition circus shot that went in. He did have an airball from deep but he had played almost 15 minutes after not playing for four months.
