Atlanta Hawks: Could JaMychal Green be a good option to replace John Collins
As the Atlanta Hawks will be competing against a number of teams to keep John Collins, they need to look at possible replacement players. Collins is likely to be overpaid this free agency meaning that the Hawks are less likely to keep him.
Collins has been huge for the franchise over the past four seasons, so much so that he has gone from a mid-first round pick to a max contract type of player. The rise has been fun to watch but now the question needs to be asked, can John Collins help take the Hawks to a title.
The jury is out on this question. On one hand, Collins is an efficient scorer who can hit the 3-ball at over 40 percent for the season. On the other hand, his one-on-one defense is suspect and he goes missing from games which is not a good trait for one of the teams’ stars.
Do the Atlanta Hawks have enough in reserve if they do not re-sign John Collins

If the Hawks manage to replace Collins with the right player then the answer to this question is a resounding yes., especially if the Hawks do not have to give up too much. One player who could play a role for the Hawks is JaMychal Green of the Denver Nuggets.
Green is an eight-year veteran who gives his heart and soul on the court, making the right plays at the right time. He is a really solid addition at the defensive end, using his toughness and basketball IQ to make life hard on the opposition.
He averages 6.0 rebounds for his career which is impressive in just 21.6 minutes per game. Green shoots the right shots, going at 47.0 percent from the floor, and 38.0 percent from beyond the arc, and 77.2 percent from the line.
These numbers are really good to pair with Trae Young’s game. He is dangerous enough from the perimeter to create space for the superstar point guard to drive to either score or create for others.
As Green still has a year left to run on his contract, the Hawks would need to give up something. It would be best for the Hawks if they could work a deal around Kris Dunn and maybe the 20th pick, this would suit the Hawks the most.
