Point guard to avoid No. 3 for the Atlanta Hawks) Jeff Teague

More from Soaring Down South

After spending his first seven seasons as a member of the Hawks, Jeff Teague went on to play for five different teams in four years, including another short stint with the Hawks. The problem is that the one-time All-Star is cannot play at the level he did when he helped the Hawks to their first Eastern Conference Finals in the 2015 season.

While Teague is still an efficient scorer, his lack of defense at the other end of the court is the main reason Teague has not played much on his last few teams. He did just win an NBA championship with the Bucks but he had a minor role.

The Hawks will look to pursue Williams who has expressed an interest in returning next season. The Hawks do not need another point guard whose defense is suspect. They have Brandon Goodwin that is certainly a good option to pursue as well

Their best option would be to trade away the contract of Kris Dunn, should he opt-in. This will give them the room to sign another quality veteran who they can use to run the second unit. This is assuming they are not looking for someone to fill this role in the draft.
