The Atlanta Hawks haven’t played a game since June 3 but that hasn’t kept superstar point guard Trae Young from being just as active in basketball as he has been away. It started with him supporting his little brother at a tournament which was followed by breaking ground on a new athletic center and some new ink.

And recently some footage of him at his tournament in Oklahoma City went viral after he reminded a fellow participant what happens when you trash talk “Ice” Trae.

Now, he shared on Instagram that he is set to take his talents to the television screen…sort of.

Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young has had a busy offseason and is showing no signs of slowing down

Young is set to appear on LeBron James’ talk show on HBO, The Shop: Uninterrupted on Friday.

The open-forum style show has been a platform for athletes and celebrities of all kinds to discuss and debate current events as well as the customary sharing of anecdotes.

The last episode featured Tom Brady and Draymond Green alongside Chelsea Handler Paul Rivera discussing topics ranging from how hard winning is to mental health.

This is Young’s third time on the show and will be the third episode of the fourth season. It will also feature Jemelle Hill, DJ Khaled, Meek Mill, and Chase Young of the Washington Football Team as well as James and co-host/partner Maverick Carter.

He’s coming off of an impressive season in which he completely changed his playing style, averaging 25.3 points and 9.4 assists en route to leading the Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals. His scoring was down but he became a much better floor general in his third season, in particular, after Nate McMillan took over as head coach.

Young’s busy offseason — which also included the debut of his ‘Ice Trae 2’ shoes from Adidas — is likely a welcome distraction after the rigorous NBA season. It was easily the most games played in a single year for most of the players on such a young roster.

It’s also been a noisy offseason with teammates’ futures being constant focuses of discussion, namely lob-mate and restricted free agent John Collins and Cam Reddish.

Of course, heading into his fourth season Young is well-versed in the happenings of the NBA and media during this time. No stone will go unturned, no player untraded when those who cover the sport don’t have actually games to write about.

And as head into the NBA Draft on Thursday night and free agency on Aug 2, the noise just grows louder.

However, appearances like the one to come on ‘The Shop’ offers personalities like Young a place to weigh in on issues they find important, for lack of a better term, uninterrupted.
