Atlanta Hawks: A Paul Millsap reunion would be tremendous for the team
The Atlanta Hawks have had a much quieter offseason than the one before the 2020-21 season. They have still made some incredible positives moves though. They have extended Trae Young, giving him the most money that he was eligible for.
They have offered a deal to their insurance policy Solomon Hill which given the injury issues from last season was a very smart move. They have also offered a deal to Gorgui Dieng who will get the backup big minutes until Onyeka Okongwu returns. Travis Schlenk seems to be looking deep into the playoffs with this move as well.
He drafted Jalen Johnson and Sharife Cooper while also extending a qualifying offer for John Collins, making him a restricted free agent. They also did the same for Skylar Mays, making him a restricted two-way free agent. However, according to Evan Massey of Hoopanalysistnet, the Hawks and Paul Millsap have a mutual interest in reuniting.
Would the Atlanta Hawks benefit from signing Paul Millsap?

The short answer to this question is definitely yes. Millsap is a proven veteran who has be a tremendous asset for the Utah Jazz, Atlanta Hawks, and the Denver Nuggets. He has been in the league for 15 seasons and while he is slowing down, he can still be a valuable contributor.
Millsap would bring a level of toughness and experience to the frontcourt and wing positions which will change how teams play the Hawks. He would also be a tremendous mentor for De’Andre Hunter, Kevin Huerter, and Cam Reddish to help them grow
He is still a solid defender and a true mismatch on the offensive end. Millsap could give better bench minutes than the Hawks get from Hill. As he is about to turn 36, Millsap is not going to be looking to earn a huge amount, he could be offered a mid-level exception worth $5.9 million.
Apart from it being a feel-good story, it would be tremendous to see Millsap back with the Hawks. What would be even better is if they could send Millsap off into retirement with a championship this season.
