Atlanta Hawks goal for Trae Young No. 3) Make an All-NBA team.

More from Soaring Down South

Aside from winning a championship, this is probably Young’s most sought-after goal personally. He stands to gain quite significantly financially if he is able to make one of the teams. Aside from the fact that he should already be in the conversation, Young deserves this level of recognition given what he has been able to achieve in just three seasons.

He is one of the best point guards in the entire association and the scary thing for the rest of the league is that he is just going to get better. He is a player who has been told that he can’t do things because he is too small, Young is doing them, and doing them better than most of his contemporaries.

When talking about Young and All-NBA selection, the old stories come out about how Young is a foul-baiter and that he does not defend. He is a player who is playing within the rules and has gotten the best out of himself and McMillan has got Young to defend. The same criticisms have been leveled at James Harden in the past and he is a seven-time selection.

Young has now led his team to the Eastern Conference Finals and as a result, he has put the league on notice. He is coming and it is going to take a herculean effort to stop. If he is able to lead the Hawks to a high playoff seeding again then he deserves to be named for his first All-NBA team.
