Atlanta Hawks goal for John Collins No. 3) Become an All-Star

More from Soaring Down South

As stated earlier, now that Collins has signed his long-term deal, he needs to live up to that expectation. He is now earning more than Domantas Sabonis and Zach LaVine and both of these players are leading their teams.

While Collins will never lead the team thanks to Young being the face of the franchise, he has not really been in the All-Star conversation. Even when he was putting up max-contract type numbers, there has always been a hesitation amongst fans to get Collins into the mid-season showcase.

Collins’ game must now be next level, he must be on the top of the minds of the fans because of the way that he is playing. He is certainly going to be helped by the fact that the Hawks have 19 of their games nationally televised. Collins needs to make sure that he does not disappear in the big moments, fans remember that sort of thing.

While making the All-Star team is not how any player should measure his success, it would be good for Collins to get this recognition. He has worked incredibly hard on his game and is one of the most likable players in the entire league. If he can do this then the Hawks will have another very successful season.
