The Atlanta Hawks knew they were getting a good one when they traded back in the 2018 NBA draft. In a draft-night trade, they sent Luka Doncic to the Dallas Mavericks and received Trae Young in return. Travis Schlenk saw something in Young that he could build around with a more complete team mentality than Doncic.
Since then, every time that Young has hit the court, he has shown a desire to be the best player that he can be. He has worked tirelessly on becoming the best version of himself and it showed during his first playoff campaign.
The star is changing the narrative around him with winning and it is not going to take long to establish himself as a perennial All-Star. He has taken another step towards that with the addition that he unveiled to his house.

Young has built a gym at his house, he has said that he “always wanted a gym at my crib.” For a man who already eats, sleeps, and breathes hoops, this is going to be an addition to his practices which raises his game even further.
There are stories of him growing up where he was practicing against his father, working on his floater by having to shoot it over a broom. Young can now do this sort of thing and much more when the mood takes him. Walking out your back door to a proper gym makes getting some practice in so much easier.
This bodes well for the Hawks this season as Young is hungry for success, and he is pretty keen to get the recognition that goes with that. It is not just the financial benefit he will receive, Young has been told that he is too small and does not play defense and wants to prove people wrong.
Young has always been happy to work on his game, now he can do it in the comfort of his own home. This is just the next step in Young becoming all that he can be.
