The Atlanta Hawks doubled down on Solomon Hill, signing him for a second season. It was fortunate for the Hawks that they signed Hill last season as he did it all for the team due to the sheer number of injuries suffered by the Hawks throughout the season.
The Hawks appear to have signed Hill again as an insurance policy for the upcoming season. The Hawks are expecting to contend again, having gotten so close in the 2020-21 season. They have improved their roster again, but Hill still should see plenty of court time.
He started 16 regular-season games for the franchise last season and even started three playoff games. The problem was that Hill lost this starting job through a complete lack of offense. He did have a game or two during the regular season where he scored in bunches but they were too few and far between.
The Atlanta Hawks like Solomon Hill’s versatility and defense
As mentioned earlier, Hill did everything for the Hawks last season, he just did not put it all together in a game or two. His role was to give the Hawks what they needed and as the injury situation got better or worse, Hill was asked to fill the next role which he did to the best of his abilities.
The other area that the Hawks value is Hill’s defense. He is one of the most disruptive players at that end of the court. He often will pressure the opponents into mistakes and he is only second on the team behind Onyeka Okongwu in his ability to defend Giannis Antetokounmpo. Now, let’s take a look at the three goals for Solomon Hill in the coming offseason.
