Atlanta Hawks: Training camp storylines not to be missed – wings
The Atlanta Hawks are just days away from opening their training camp. We have taken a look at the storylines that can’t be missed in the frontcourt and the backcourt. now it is time to take a look at the wings for the Hawks and the storylines that should not be missed.
The first one is one that has been haunting the Hawks for almost a season at this position. They have suffered so many injuries at the wing that they had to start Tony Snell and Solomon Hill at this position throughout various points of last season.
As this year’s training camp opens, the Hawks have already announced that De’Andre Hunter, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and Kevin Huerter are all not going to be able to fully participate in training camp. This is not ideal for a team that is looking to build on last season’s success.
The Atlanta Hawks need to assess the talent they have available.
The Hawks welcome back Cam Reddish after missing most of the last season with an injury to his Achilles. Coach Nate McMillan likens his talent level as highly as Paul George, he just needs the opportunity to work with the team to bring this talent to the fore.
They also have their first-round pick in the 2021 NBA draft Jalen johnson. He showed that he has a huge level of potential, he is going to spend most of the season exploring how far his talent can take him. The Hawks have a good history of developing players and they will find his ceiling.
Unfortunately for the Hawks, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot has had trouble with his visa and is yet to make it to Atlanta. He needs as much time as he can in front of the coaching staff if he is going to convert his non-guaranteed deal to a full contract.
Lastly, Solomon Hill needs to work on his offense within the Hawks systems to see if he can get some court time on merit rather than being the only player available at the time.
