Atlanta Hawks : 3 Improvement De’Andre Hunter must make
By Brice Lewis
Atlanta Hawks improvements for De’Andre Hunter No.1) Improving his 3-point shot
Hunter should be looking to improve his shot from behind the arc this season to make his offensive game even more dangerous. He actually shot lower from behind the arc this past season at 32.6% compared to 35.5% his rookie year.
Teams will give Hunter this shot and so he will need to be able to take and make the shot. If he adds that then this will make defenses have to pick their poison because Hunter is also a good driver to the rim.
This will then help when playing with Trae Young. Opposition teams tend to collapse their defenses on the offensive genius which will give Hunter more open shots around the perimeter. This in turn makes the Hawks much more dangerous to guard and Hunter can help reap some of the benefits. This will also allow Hunter to find his sweet spot from beyond the arc
He shot most of his long bombs from above the key last season. He also shot 35.5 percent from the top of the arc. He took 31.3 percent from the left side and 25.0 percent from the right side. Regardless of the position on the court, Hunter should show improvement because of the shot quality he will get. If he does that, Hunter could be a secret weapon for the Hawks this season.
