After coming over to the Atlanta Hawks in a mid-season trade, Lou Williams proved to be a brilliant acquisition for the franchise. He was able to fix the non-Trae Young minutes to a point and also stopped the late-game fadeouts with his fourth-quarter heroics.
Williams has been a star in this game for a long time, being arguably the best bench player the NBA has ever seen. He has won the Sixth Man of the Year award three times and showed tremendous chemistry with the second unit, especially last season’s rookie Onyeka Okongwu.
The Hawks chose to pursue another contract with Williams in the offseason. Considering the veteran, who is about to turn 35 has never won a title, this will be something that he will want to do.
