The Atlanta Hawks have transferred rookie Jalen Johnson as well as two way players Sharife Cooper and Skylar Mays back to the College Park Skyhawks. The Hawks G-League affiliate does not have a game until near the end of the month but due to the upcoming roadtrip for the varsity squad, they made the decision to send these players to the G-League.

This means that they will no be with the team for the upcoming road trip which has only two games on it. First the Hawks play the San Antonio Spurs and then they travel again to take on the Memphis Grizzlies. In a freak of the fixture, the Hawks then return home to play the New York Knicks in a back-to-back.

What this means for the three Hawks youngsters is that they are going to get the opportunity to practice and train with the Skyhawks. This will give them a greater chance to develop than by sitting on the bench, on a plane, or participating in shootarounds with the main squad.

The Atlanta Hawks need to continue to develop their youngsters.

Cooper has had two big games for the Skyhawks including a double-double in the third game of the season. Johnson struggled in his first professional game before bouncing back in the second. He then showed us what he could do with a massive 20-20 double-double in the fourth game.

Unfortunately for the Skyhawks, the performance of their bigger names has not been able to propel the team to a victory in four attempts. It is only going to be a matter of time before this happens then the team should be on it’s way.
