The Atlanta Hawks are incredibly inconsistent at the moment, getting wins against teams like the Memphis Grizzlies and then losing to the Detroit Pistons. It is frustrating for the team and fanbase alike but there have been mutliple reasons for this.

The Hawks injury crisis has bitten the club hard this season. They would be in a much better situation if they had not had the injury issues which were scarily similat to last season and then the COVID-19 crisis. Still, they are in the play-in tournament at this point and anything is possible.

Still, this has had a fairly major impact on the College Park Skyhawks who have not had a consistent team for a while now. Still, their back court is their driving force now that Sharife Cooper has figured out how to play off the ball and has developed into a weapon. As a result, the Skyhawks are now the hottest team in the G League.

The Atlanta Hawks saw the benefits of the Skyhawks against the Detroit Pistons

The Hawks had a taste of their future against the Pistons with Jalen Johnson being one of the only shining lights in the loss. His game showed so much promise at the NBA level but it all started with the Skyhawks.

Justin Tillman is another Onyeka Okongwu type player who is primed to be signed by an NBA team. He is leading the league in rebounds, one of two Skyhawks who are leading the G League in statistical categories.

However, it is the Skyhawks backcourt that is the most exciting exciting aspect of the team. Normally it would be Johnson but he has had injuries and has also been called up to varsity squad quite regularly, despite not being played often enough.
