The Atlanta Hawks franchise had a really good day. Trae Young matched a season-high in the win against Golden State Warriors. Then the College Park Skyhawks beat the Windy City Bulls to get into a playoff seeding for the first time this season.

This is an incredible result for the season where the Skyhawks have been decimated by injury and call ups for the Atlanta Hawks who have had their issues with injury and Covid-19. When the Hawks called up Jalen Johnson to help cover John Collins who was out with injury, the season looked shot for the Skyhawks.

However, the future of the Hawks looks good because the Skyhawks have all bought into their role. Cat Barber, Justin Tillman, and Sharife Cooper all have shown a level of chemistry that could take any of them into the NBA and they could have successful careers as role-players in the NBA.

The Atlanta Hawks franchise is trying to position both teams for the playoffs

The Hawks are currently in the play-in battle, sitting in tenth in the Eastern Conference standings. The Skyhawks are sitting in the final playoff spot in the G League Eastern Conference. They have the same record as the Long Island Nets but won the season series.

Now the Skyhawks have their future in their own hands. They can keep winning and the Nets will not be able to get past them. The good news for the Skyhawks is that play the Bulls again next game and then the Lakeland Magic who are down the bottom of the standings.

Their last two games are against the Grand Rapids Gold who are only just above them in the standings. If the Skyhawks can continue their hot streak and win all four then they will end up in the fifth seed which will hopefully give them a slightly easier run through the playoffs.
