The Atlanta Hawks G League affiliate the College Park Skyhawks have qualified for the playoffs on the back of being the hottest team in the league for the last month. They have done this by every team member buying in and fulfilling their role.

However, there is a potential issue for the Skyhawks with their starting point guard Cat Barber. He injured his wrist and missed the final game of the season. There is no news as of yet as to whether he will be able to take the court against the Capital City Go-Go.

Understandably Barber is upset that he is not at full health because he has put his heart and soul into this season. His play was the reason the Skyhawks were able to turn their season around and then he led them into the playoffs.

Cat Barber is a true Atlanta Hawks type player.

While Barber may not be able to play, he is still showing tremendous leadership around the group. While he is upset with his wrist, Barber is a fun-loving player who is good at keeping everyone in good spirits. Being an older guy in the group, the other players look to him for leadership and guidance.

Fortunately for the Hawks, they have two NBA-caliber players who can step into the role. Sharife Cooper has been putting in some huge performances of late and is willing to lead this team as far as it can go.

Likewise, the Skyhawks have Langston Galloway on their roster who has played in the NBA for years. He also has the ability to run the club when Cooper sits which is going to benefit the Skyhawks no end.

Regardless of whether he plays or not, Barber has shown that he belongs at this level. The Hawks even signed him to a 10-Day contract during their Covid-19 crisis. The Skyhawks have done well to get this far but there is not a player on their roster who does not want to go all the way. With the way they have been playing, there is no telling who could stop them.
