The Atlanta Hawks are going to make history in October when they travel to Abu Dhabi to play the Milwaukee Bucks in two preseason games. These games are two of only three scheduled for the Hawks this preseason.
However, that is not the only thing of note happening in Abu Dhabi in October. Trae Young announced on Twitter that he is going to be dropping the Trae Young 2’s at the same time. This is a shrewd marketing strategy for the TY 2’s as the Hawks will be playing in a new market
This should guarantee the fans who turn out for these two games that they should get some quality basketball played. Young and his marketing team are going to want the most exposure possible for the new shoe to get as many sales in the new market as they possibly can.
Atlanta Hawks superstar Trae Young needs to keep balling out.
When Young released the 1’s at the start of last season he did so after not making the All-Star team, and nor did he make any All-NBA teams. He did have a huge playoff series which helped his profile across the nation.
However, in the season just gone, Young made the All-Star team and was seen by the media voters as good enough to make the All-NBA third team. If Young can keep playing at this level, not only will it help his shoe sales but it will be a massive help to the Hawks and their playoff aspirations.
The narrative around Young will continue to change this season, especially if they continue to win. This will only do positive things to his shoe sales as fans want to emulate winners. This also shows that Adidas also have complete faith in Young to be their ambassador. Let’s hope that next season Young gets to release the champion 3’s
