The Atlanta Hawks are going to create history in their preseason where they play the first ever games in Abu Dhabi. They are taking on the Milwaukee Bucks in two games in the Middle East where Trae Young is going to debut the Trae Young 2’s.

On top of that, the Hawks are playing the New Orleans Pelicans in the final game of the preseason. Up until the end of August, this looked like the preseason schedule was set for the Hawks.

They have training camp at the end of the month followed by international travel to the Middle East, two games and then they have to fly back again to play their third. There is such a potential for injury thanks to the changes in time zones and the pressurization of long flights.

The Hawks have added a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers into their preseason slate. This is a good move as the Hawks were at a similar level in the standings when they finished the season. In fact, the Hawks eliminated the Cavaliers from the play-in tournament which got them into the playoffs.

Still, the Hawks have made some serious changes to their roster. Any chance that they get to work on chemistry in an in-game setting will be beneficial for this team. Dejounte Murray and Young need to work out how they are going to play with each other if this team is going to have success next season.

Still, there has to be a balance between trying to get enough basketball to develop this chemistry and also playing too much basketball. It would be a disaster for the Hawks if one of their main players got injured prior to the season starting because they were on the court in a situation that would not help the team.
