Updated list of Hawks draft picks after flurry of deadline deals

Onsi Saleh quietly made some shrewd moves this deadline.

Onsi Saleh wasted no time establishing his reputation as the Atlanta Hawks' GM, making nine trades during his brief tenure. Among these are two Kristaps Porzingis trades, a Trae Young trade, and many moves around the margins.

After players were liquidated for picks left and right, we compiled a list of all the Hawks’ draft picks moving forward to clarify the situation. With a few hours left until the deadline, this list may be incomplete, as Atlanta still has to trade or waive one player to meet the 15-man cap.

Complete list of Atlanta’s picks after trade frenzy

According to Spotrac, the Hawks hold the following assets in their war chest. Picks added this year are italicized.

First round picks:

  • 2026 NOP/MIL swap (more favorable)
  • 2026 ATL/SAS/CLE/UTA/MIN swap***
  • 2027 NOP/MIL swap (less favorable)
  • 2028 ATL/CLE/MIN swap (most favorable)
  • 2029 own
  • 2030 own
  • 2031 own
  • 2032 own

Second round picks

  • 2026 BOS (Offseason Porzingis trade)
  • 2027 ATL (Krejci trade)
  • 2029 CLE
  • 2030 ATL
  • 2030 NYK (Krejci trade)
  • 2031 ATL/HOU swap (more favorable; Capela trade)
  • 2032 ATL
  • 2032 LAL (Kennard trade)

*** This 2026 five-way swap is actually two separate swaps. First, the Hawks get the less favorable asset between ATL/SAS. At this point, it’s clear the Hawks will receive the Spurs’ pick. After this swap, Atlanta receives the most favorable selection among CLE, MIN, and its own pick (via SAS). Right now, Atlanta would land Cleveland’s pick at 20th overall from this monstrosity of a draft asset.

Saleh has increased Atlanta’s second round pick haul from 3 to 8, while he spent a first round pick to offload Terance Mann/acquire Porzingis. In all, this is quite a remarkable series of asset plays from the newest GM on the block.

While one second round pick has little to no value, they can be quite valuable in droves, as the Wizards demonstrated. Anthony Davis was acquired for what is essentially five second round picks – the two “firsts” are going to be the 30th overall pick and a pick that will not convey.

With eight seconds at his disposal, Saleh has built himself a small but potent war chest to attack the market with. This isn’t what Hawks fans necessarily wanted, but after yet another unsuccessful Trae Young-led season, it was time to blow it up. Atlanta retained their young core, added a few interesting players, and doubled their second round pick haul. Overall, I’d say it’s been a solid deadline so far.
